Line Cook

At The Garages is a large locally owned Live Music Venue, Bar and Gastro Pub Style Restaurant. The premier weekend bands and weekday events generate a high energy exciting team environment. With our large kitchen we offer the back of house staff the ultimate experience to prepare our menu. As the backbone of the kitchen you’ll manage the consistent and steady completion of meals that meet and exceed expectations. We rotate menu items based on seasonal ingredients, which will allow you to cook a variety of exciting meals throughout the year.

Line Cook Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
  • Prepares food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

Work hours

As a full time employee your main work schedule of 4-5 days per week will include weekend and evening cooking and prep hours up to 10pm when the kitchen closes for the night. Our employee weekly work schedules are flexible depending on the pre-planned customer special events in our large Courtyard.

Line Cook Qualifications/Skills:

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Follows directions and instructions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One or more years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
  • Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.
  • Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.
  • Familiar with industry best practices
