HireArt is helping the world's largest social network find a Linux Network Driver Developer to develop drivers, tools and/or test framework and utilities for ethernet adapters.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 8 years of prior experience. We're looking for someone proficient in C++/C and experience developing Linux kernel drivers/kernel network stacks. This candidate will have previous experience writing test software.
As a Linux Network Driver Developer, you'll:

• Implement Linux drivers, utilities and tests for Network Interface Module.
• Upstream activities including backporting necessary kernel networking related changes.
• Root cause and implement fixes for NICs in server fleet.
• Build changes required in source control for Linux drivers.

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
• Strong knowledge of computer software (i.e. configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software)
• Working knowledge of HW offloads
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
• Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback

Commitment: This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt. This position will be remote and available to candidates who are local to The Bay Area; New York, NY; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; San Diego, CA and Los Angeles, CA areas.
