Orion Stone Depot a landscape supply store in Orion Township, MI (Northern Oakland County) is seeking to add to our existing team of outdoor laborers.

This position will require assisting walk in customers and contractors with general product questions as well as physically assisting them in loading materials purchased. You will perform general labor duties such as by hand material handling, machine operation and maintenance, product loading/unloading/delivery and cleaning in a safe and timely manner. We are seeking someone with weekday and must have weekend availability. Plenty of overtime available during the in season (Summer & Spring).

Responsibilities

• Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the various brands and bulk materials in stock.
• Assist customers with general product information and with loading materials by machine or hand.
• Conduct regular housekeeping duties such as maintaining loader and equipment cleanliness as well as maintain yard cleanliness to the best of your ability.
• Unload trucks and inbound freight which may require unstrapping loads, stacking and some physical labor.
• Load and unload products from trucks in a timely and organizational manner.
• Verify proper working order of equipment before use and maintain and repair equipment as needed for safe and efficient operation. If unable to maintain or repair by oneself report work order to mechanics.
• Perform warehouse work including driving loader and loading/unloading inventory.
• Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Prepare outgoing orders/deliveries.
• Pay close attention to detail and be customer focused.
• Ability to work independently and a team environment as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid CDL A Drivers license
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50+ lbs.
• Must be customer focused

Additional Qualifications

• Knowledge of the landscape industry is a plus!
• Ability to operate machinery such as front-end loaders, excavator and/or forklift.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
