Local leather studio looking for part-time help Job at Project Transaction
Project Transaction has been designing and manufacturing screen-printed leather accessories since 2006. We’ve recently had a long-held position open up, and are looking for someone to help grow our small business. The main tasks are cutting, prepping, and sewing leather and vegan leather pieces.
The ideal candidate:
- a self-starter
- good eye for balance and symmetry
- must have experience with machine sewing (straight stitch and home machine okay)
- leatherworking or similarly skilled experience is strongly preferred
We can offer steady work with flexible scheduling. Afternoons/evenings are preferred for at least the initial training period. Our workshop is located in a private art studio in a building shared with other artists, just a few blocks from Stonybrook MBTA in Jamaica Plain, MA. (We are on the 3rd floor and, unfortunately, not ADA accessible.) Looking for 10-15 hours/week to start, with the possibility of more hours and expanding to other areas of the business for the right candidate. Rapid raises within 3-6 months will be provided based on performance and hours worked.
- One of our lines specializes in adult leather products, so you must be comfortable with adult themes.
- We often have a pup in the studio, so please be dog friendly, too!
- Please be vaccinated against Covid-19.
