Position Description:
This Mid-Level Logistic Analyst will be part of a dynamic team supporting Navy shipbuilding programs in our Washington DC Navy Yard location.

Bring your attention to detail and solid Microsoft Office skills to make an impact toward our military defense and safety of our sailors. This position provides support to the PMS 385 Sealift and Auxiliaries program office, particularly the Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) program. This program office builds ships for Military Sealift Command (MSC) / Navy Fleet Forces missions around the world. Serve as an on-site Integrated Logistics Analyst for the Technical Documentation and Supply Support Integrated Product Support Elements in support of an expeditionary shipbuilding program office. The Integrated Logistics Analyst will be responsible for the development of preliminary and final technical manuals and for the development and documentation of equipment provisioning packages.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain and transfer your active Secret clearance

In this role, you will:
  • Use engineering drawings and data to develop Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and electronic system/equipment, provisioning, logistics, and alteration records.
  • Prepare documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, and test equipment, identify maintenance procedures, and ensure manuals are applicable to the configuration.
  • Document the range and depth of spares, tools, and test equipment in the Material and Equipment Logistics Information Network (MERLIN).
  • Document equipment, component, and parts conditions and identify logistic support documentation such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to be included for sustainment of ship systems.
  • Conceptualize, write, edit, and review complex technical materials, consult relevant information sources, including library, technical, client, and project personnel, to obtain sufficient information to develop new technical manuals for shipboard use.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables and review and approval time-lines.
  • Perform, report, and interpret results of sight validation of ship systems and equipment.
  • Conduct research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in documents, that when final, are useful for machinery and equipment installation, start-up operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and shutdown procedures and instructions in a shipboard environment.
  • Produce technical manuals/documentation/ supplementals for various mechanical and electrical equipment and systems onboard the ship which meet Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) standards for publication.
  • Perform research and data mining activities in technical systems, libraries, local storage devices and Internet sources for all assigned specifications.
  • Conduct a quality review of documentation for technical accuracy, clarity, and conciseness and provide clear and concise feedback.
  • Review drawings, training materials, maintenance requirements, and repair procedures for inclusion in technical manual documents.
  • Revise and review documents other than technical manuals, as needed or directed.
  • Perform validation of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and modify maintenance records, as applicable.
  • Review configuration changes to evaluate logistics impact.
  • Update equipment, components, and repair parts records, and related manuals.
  • Able to develop layouts for and burn files to disc media.
  • Research and report material allowance and ship specification technical issues.
  • Review Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) checklist certifications, Schedule A listings, GFE pushed material listings, Allowance Equipage Lists (AEL) baselines and configuration and logistics data to ensure compliance with Navy or MSC Logistics Information Systems, Specifications, Policy, and Guidance.
  • Provide support during technical and collaborative conferences and meetings to include but not limited to note taking, meeting minutes, and hosting as needed.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Must be able to maintain and transfer your active Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years of years of work in an office environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for determining logistics support.
  • Must be a self-starter who works well as part of a team and independently.
  • 10% travel required
Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Must be able to work in a shipboard/shipyard environment.
  • Experience with configuration and logistics information systems and processes.
  • Experience mining federal supply systems for logistics information.
  • Experience reviewing and building Logistics Support Information packages for parts purchase.
