Goodwill TalentBridge is actively recruiting for a Machine Operator on 1st shift in the Des Plaines, IL area. This position is responsible for performing regular maintenance checks on machines to ensure they’re functioning properly. We are looking for someone who has mechanical aptitude to run the 2 machines and help out production on this shift. Very light forklift work we only use them to move material to locations to refill materials only maybe 2-5% of the role is on a forklift. We need someone who can truly do machine operator work.

SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-up, adjust, and operate automated assembly equipment.
• Disassemble non-conforming parts with machines and/or hand tools to rebuild or recycle.
• Replenish raw material to the automation/ assembly equipment to maintain production
• Maintain a 2-bin Kanban Inventory system to ensure no part shortages occur
• Diagnose operating troubles or malfunctions and may use basic hand tools to make minor adjustments and repairs.
• Assemble product using manual and/or semi-manual processes.
• Follow established packaging instructions and use of weigh scales
• Must be able to perform visual part inspections for defects
• Must be able to assist with filling plastic materials in to molding machine from bags, drums, or gaylords
• Ability to clearly communicate issues to management and maintenance to ensure a quality product is being produced and equipment is not malfunctioning
• Work directly with Mold Set-Up Technicians, Maintenance and General Operators
• Use of sit down forklift, walk behind, hand pump pallet lift operation, and small hand tools is required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 2-3 years of machine operating experience
• Experience in plastic manufacturing and/or automation environment is a plus
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Experience driving a sit-down forklift is preferred; willing to train the right individual
• Must be comfortable standing and moving around for longer periods of time
• Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
• Must be at least 18 years of age

SCHEDULE:

Long-term, temp to hire opportunity on 1st shift

Hours: Monday - Friday: 6:00AM - 2:30PM
Pay rate: $20/HR

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
