Maintenance Apprentice

Georgia Pacific is looking for a maintenance apprentice who is interested in learning all aspects of maintenance. The apprentice would need training in one or more fields of maintenance such as welding, lubrication, basic mechanical skills, and precision skills. The is an opportunity to get some excellent training for your future and the future of Georgia Pacific. You would work side by side with experienced mechanics and perform duties for on-the-job training. This position would show you the importance of preventative and corrective maintenance work to increase production and reliability of equipment.

Georgia Pacific in Fordyce, AR. Manufactures oriented strand board (OSB), compressed strands of wood flakes (strands) that are bound together by adhesives which prevents moisture intrusion. The most common uses are sheathing for walls, flooring, and roof decking. • You would learn how to inspect equipment for failures
• You would learn how to prepare and weld in the field

• You would learn how to lubricate equipment
• You would learn the importance of reliability of equipment
• You will have to be self-motivated
