Maintenance Assistant Job at Turning Point Care Center
- Perform tasks such as, but not limited to:
- changing light bulbs
- intalling paper dispenser units
- changing filters
- changing locks on doors
- minor decorative maintenance
- preventative maintenance
- inspecting smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency exit lights
- delivering boxes
- moving furniture
- touch-up painting
- and other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person.
- Identify and correct unsafe working conditions with management oversight.
- May be required to assist with special events.
- May drive a cart or other vehicle.
- May be required to utilize basic cleaning and other chemicals.
- Assist skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties.
- Respond to customer questions or requests demonstrating courteous and professional customer service.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and secure work environment. Ensure proper care and use of tools, equipment, supplies and materials.
- Take necessary precautions to comply with institutional, departmental, or regulatory agency safety requirements.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and maintenance records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, formal education in skilled trades preferred.
- Maintenance, general construction experience preferred; previous experience in institutional and/or commercial facility maintenance preferred.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Participate in rotational on-call schedule.
- Requires the ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat and winter weather.
- Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
- Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function; reliable transportation is required.
- Current Georgia Driver's License with: no more than 2 moving violations in the past 6 years; no more than 4 points on record; no reckless driving citations; no more than 1 accident on record for the past 5 years; no DUI or DWI violations.
