TEMPORARY/ SEASONAL MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

The Town of Los Gatos is hiring temporary Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks and Public Works Department. The primary responsibility of these positions is to:

• Maintain parks and trails daily
• Repair and maintain traffic signs and markings
• Operate a variety of public works equipment
• Support various public events
• Assist in maintaining the Town’s urban forest

We are looking for hard working individuals who enjoy being outdoors and interacting cooperatively and effectively with the public. Public contact will require accurate knowledge, tact, courtesy, and good judgment while presenting a positive, friendly image.

Must be a team player with the ability to work effectively with co-workers. Duties must frequently be accomplished independently with intermittent supervision.

The position performs hands-on physical labor in keeping park sites, structures, and restrooms clean, safe, and in operable condition. Primary responsibilities during the summer months include watering trees using a portable water wagon, trimming and clearing brush by using manual and power tools, and maintaining restrooms including emptying trash, replenishing bathroom supplies and cleaning floors and fixtures, leaf blowing and sweeping. Must have experience using hand & power tools, valid California State driver's license, and a clean driving record. Prior related work experience desirable.
