Essential Job Functions:

• Respond to guest requests in a prompt and courteous manner
• Performs light maintenance tasks to include, but not be limited to, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration systems, painting, spackling, and drywall
• Respond and attend to guest repair requests in a prompt and courteous manner
• Removes, cleans, replaces and maintains unit air conditioners (PTACs), televisions, telephones and similar equipment
• Responsible for generating work orders for all maintenance requests, completing work orders as applicable and notifying management when necessary to secure services of outside vendor to complete work orders
• Maintain and complete Preventive Maintenance program for hotel property according to schedule
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on all types of electrical such as televisions, telephones, and lamps
• Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms such as plunging toilets, unclogging drains and repairing all types of hardware (door casings, handles, knobs, latches, hoses, wiring, belts, etc.), changing outlets or wall switch, shampooing carpets and other cosmetic items
• Completes janitorial duties such as: cleaning of parking lot, hotel common areas, stairways, corridors and prepping of guest checkout rooms to include removing trash, stripping used linen, and identifying and repairing any maintenance issues.
• Responsible for ensuring fire safety equipment (fire alarms system, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, sprinkler system, emergency lights, etc.) are operational and that inspections are completed as required. Forward inspection reports to General Manager as required
• Properly tag any items left by guests in accordance with the lost and found policy and turn into management
• Responsible for the exterior of building to ensure free of safety hazards

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
• Some vocational or community college with related coursework preferred
• Must successfully complete a Maintenance Knowledge Assessment with a score of 60% or higher

Skills and Experience:

• 1 or more years of experience as maintenance tech, experience in extended stay hotel preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, mechanical systems
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Mechanically inclined with exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Use of hand tools/ power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches
• Understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
• Effective interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor towards staff, guests, and visitors to the property
• Effective with organization, management of time, and attention to detail.
• Effective at multitasking and managing multiple projects at the same time.
