Prolytix, a leader in the development of large molecule therapeutics, is seeking a dynamic and energetic Laboratory Manager to lead and support our laboratory operations and teams for our rapidly growing business based in Essex Junction, VT. This position reports to the Vice President, R&D and Manufacturing. The Lab Manager is responsible for developing and providing integrated programs and support our scientific personnel to focus on science in the lab and timely deliverables to our customers through sustained operational excellence and innovation. Lab operations encompasses a broad range of activities, including, but not limited to, logistics, safety, preventative maintenance, and administrative areas.

As a Lab Manager you will support both the manufacturing and R&D teams by partnering with the VP, R&D and Manufacturing and team leads. This position will interface with the scientists and supporting functions including Health, Safety & Environment, Facilities, Procurement, and Quality. The successful candidate must be organized, self-directed, and capable of handling a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

· The Lab Manager role is responsible for supervising and performing technical and administrative tasks on a day-to-day basis in support of the lab's research and operational needs

· This role oversees equipment maintenance, ensures adequate supplies for experimental needs, assists the scientists in personnel management, manages lab safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, assists in laboratory space and facilities planning, makes recommendations for changes, maintains inventory of laboratory equipment, and serves as the liaison to facilities, IT, and the scientific leadership

· Act as liaison between lab and ISO quality to ensure compliance with all applicable safety and quality policies

· Develop laboratory guidelines, maintain procedures manuals, and evaluate new materials and equipment

· Other responsibilities may include:

o Training incoming personnel in proper lab conduct

o Provide training in technical areas and complex processes

o Carry out a research or manufacturing project

o Evaluate new techniques and technology

o Create and manage POs and vendor invoicing

Qualifications

· BA/BS degree in Biological Sciences, engineering or other business discipline is required

· 4+ years of lab or lab manager experience required

· Broad range of experience in laboratory operations, including establishing procedures and practices, inventory management, procurement, equipment maintenance, etc.

· Proven interpersonal skills are required with strong verbal and written communication skills

· Experience in Organizational Development and Design and Change Management is highly preferred
