Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area and five years of appropriate experience. Relevant experience may substitute for required education.

The department is especially interested in applicants with:

Five years of experience
Master’s Degree in Education.
Three years working with local community agencies to organize community events.

This is a grant-funded position contingent upon funding availability.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule

Works with identified local community agencies to identify leaders and topics for Public Health-related conferences/workshops for Shelby County Health Department employees, Public Health students, and local community leaders.

Secures contracts for the leader/s of each community and Shelby County Health Department public health conference/workshop.

Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures that each conference/workshop is effectively executed and that all pre- and post- conference matters are appropriately handled with the venue and contractors; Files all appropriate paperwork before and after each conference/workshop; Creates pre- and post-, annual, and final conference/workshop PowerPoints, reports, and/or poster presentations.

Works with identified local community agencies and identifies additional partners to recruit attendance of the appropriate/necessary conference/workshop attendees.

Manages the distribution of all necessary conference/workshop attendance incentives and payments.

Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures that the venue, registration, name tags, lunch, IT, post-surveys, etc. are secured and adequate for each conference/workshop.
