Do you want to lead, manage and coordinate the efforts for downtown vitalization and community events? Do you have strong skills in relationship building, writing, and strategic creativity to increase funds and support to further develop Downtown Janesville?
Downtown Janesville Inc. is seeking someone with the passion and skills to serve as the primary spokesperson, administrator, and relationship builder to nurture community supporters, downtown merchants, other businesses and stakeholders. You must represent the organization positively in all communications, facilitate all communications, obtain/complete grant proposals/permits/licenses, meet deadlines, identify and cultivate community partners, facilitate board governance items and respond to board and committee directives, assist with planning/execution of all events while also identifying new ideas for events, and identify/secure funding opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, written and oral, including an ability to create articulate persuasive proposals; positive attitude and passion for the mission of Downtown Janesville; strong organizational and time management skills; prior involvement with the Janesville community; strong attention to detail; and an ability to work independently and self-manage. Prior fundraising/events experience, project management software familiarity and a track record of success in identifying and securing funding is a plus.
