Manual Grind Operator Job at Altra Industrial Motion Corp.
Will perform machining operations in the manual grind classification as assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate machining centers in the department (grinders)
- Operates ID, OD, Centerless and Surface Grinders
- Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or worktables
- Interacts with other departments as needed, such as obtaining “First Piece” together with Inspectors
- Checks work as parts are produced by performing in-process inspections using a variety of measuring equipment
- Produce parts by interpreting and understanding drawing requirements
- May perform specialty programming, setup, or leader operations as assigned
- Record labor and other production information on Hour-by-Hour sheets
- Conduct operator level maintenance tasks
- Follows all safety and work rules
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions

Education and Experience Requirements
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing precision machining environment
- Prior work experience with grinding is required
- Proficient knowledge of GD&T and drawing reading skills
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions
- Good communication skills and teamwork are essential
Physical Demand and Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Use of hand tools and the ability to use material handling devices
- Must be able to sit / stand for long periods of time as necessary in the work area
- Ability to reach and work with arms extended
