Description:The Manufacturing Engineering Senior position is an senior-level position that may support the Assembly and/or Fabrication areas depending on the assignment. This position may design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

This position may be responsible for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. Interfaces as the project's lead resource with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and the program office as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Uses SAP, lean six sigma concepts, and other tools to analyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies and implements plans pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities. May use tools such as simulation modeling, 2D/3D modeling, and other business process applications to investigate issues, gather data, and present solutions to teams and leaders within the organization. Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to improve productivity, decision making, and gain competitive advantage in an engineering setting. May work with technical developers and data scientists to define changes to existing applications and/or new applications needed to achieve desired results.

Lockheed Martin Archbald is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility that provides design, manufacturing, engineering, & field service support for both domestic and international customers. Our site manufacturers many products within the Precision Guided Systems (PGS), Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) and other MFC lines of business. For over 70 years our products feature safety-critical systems for nuclear submarines, aircraft carriers, & commercial nuclear power plants while also designing and manufacturing air-to-ground weapon and training systems for the US Military and international allied customers.

The Locale: Archbald is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is part of Lackawanna County in the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The entire region is about 100 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. Archbald is a suburb of Scranton, PA. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Eng, Manufacturing Eng, or other Engineering related discipline from an accredited college

At least 5 years experience in a similar role support/leading small to large project teams

Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Exceptional written and oral communication/interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner

Demonstrated ability to read & interpret drawing requirements to develop work instructions

Familiarity with lean/six-sigma manufacturing methods and techniques

Demonstrated ability to track and manage cost, quality, and schedule in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and set up production work cells and facility layout changes

Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect/analyze data and make the necessary improvements to achieve desired performance

Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, so must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Previous work experience performing Manufacturing and/or Industrial Engineering tasks at a proficient level

Strong root cause and corrective action analysis skills for resolving issues

Green Belt or Black Belt trained/certifications in lean/six-sigma to drive continuous improvement

Certifications or knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001

Electro-mechanical, cable & harness assembly/fabrication experience

Tooling and fixture design including modeling & 3D printing

Use of configuration management tools and MRP/ERP production systems (i.e. SAP, Windchill, APRISO)

Use of simulation modeling to analyze and improve production process flow

Use of 2D and 3D modeling programs such as Auto-CAD and CREO

Ability to learn and program a variety of production support equipment

Master's Degree in Industrial Eng, Manufacturing Eng, or other Engineering related discipline from an accredited college

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
