Opportunity for a Manufacturing Manager to join our team and be responsible for the production of Assembly & Machine Shop environments in our West Chester, PA facility. The primary role of this position is to meet or exceed the key performance indicators established for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost through effective Daily Management and continuous process improvement. Demonstrating the effective use of the Regal Rexnord Business System tools to continually improve the group’s performance is a critical part of the role.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team of supervisors and planners, with oversight of direct labor union associates in a multiple shift manufacturing environment
  • Coach and mentor supervisors to hold associates accountable to the work rules and policies through active and fair discipline while also providing constructive performance feedback
  • Work with supervisors and human resources team to uphold the collective bargaining agreement (aka union contract)
  • Ensure team is executing on daily, weekly, and monthly build plans to ship quality products that meet our customer commitments
  • Perform Root Cause Counter Measures (RCCM) with the team for issues that prohibit meeting key performance indicators – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity (SQDIP)
  • Own and utilize visual management via the SQDIP
  • Evaluate cell demand and determine if countermeasures (overtime, staff re-deployment) will be required to meet customer request dates
  • Maintain a staff of motivated cell operators and frequently review performance for the manufacturing team
  • Utilize cell start-up meetings to engage the cell operators in daily expectations
  • Drive cross-training initiatives to close training gaps and reduce risk
  • Embrace the culture of continuous improvement – lead and support the group participating in Kaizen events throughout the organization
  • Determine capital equipment requirements, develop Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) and execute
  • Responsible for following quality system procedures as required
  • Instill sense of urgency with team around meeting safety, customer quality and delivery, and cost expectations
  • Audit and improve processes to drive world class quality, reducing scrap and maintaining EDPM < 700
  • Manage short- and long-term projects to achieve desired outcomes on-time and on-budget

Critical Competencies

  • Flexible working style and ability to prioritize in the moment to keep pace in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Leadership skills including ability to drive and focus a team on the critical few
  • Ability to troubleshoot and implement root cause countermeasures
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Willingness to work extended hours to support second shift or weekend product build on an as needed basis
  • Appreciation and respect for hourly work and performance in a union environment

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing environment, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent, required
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience, nice to have
  • Experience in ISO9001 environment, nice to have
  • Union environment experience, nice to have
