About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
The Market Developer position will lead development of two new-to-ExxonMobil markets, building a strategic approach to the global carbon market engagement in support of society’s Energy Transition goals and corresponding corporate objectives. In the commercial market, this position will help to create long-term relationships with world-scale customers based on specific applications of carbon products. A dynamic, technically knowledgeable, startup mindset of the individual, combined with the team, financial, and manufacturing backing of ExxonMobil will yield a fast-paced, professional growth environment. This position is expected to be located in Spring, Texas.
What you will do
Lead market entry for two new-to-ExxonMobil markets (customer technical engagement, product positioning, commercial adoption of new materials, go-to-market strategy)- Work closely with customers, ExxonMobil technical and business functions to drive market uptake of new materials
- Establish industry contacts and an industry presence in the corresponding carbon market communities. Build and leverage a network of customers, potential customers, technical leaders, and industry engagements to drive business outcomes and monitor key industry attributes or indicators over the long term
- Engage with customers to identify new market/application opportunities
- Translate product attributes to value in Use/Value propositions
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Education – Bachelors in Market Development or Technical w/ Commercial Marketing experience: BS, MS or PhD in Engineering/Science/Math
- 10yrs plus general commercial, 5yrs+ Battery Markets
- Experience with different value chains such as Lithium Ion Batteries, carbon materials, and/or synthetic graphite production for steel electric arc furnace applications required
- Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with technical and business functions to drive faster adoption of new materials
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership to drive desired business outcomes and monitor key project milestones
- Commercial Market Development experience with strong technical engagement
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- Education - MBA in addition to requirements preferred
- Market Entry experience
- Ability to form strategy, debate merits and weaknesses, and drive aligned business decisions thereafter
- Global marketing/business experience for a large scale industry
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills in all formats
