POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing and Communications Manager participates in planning the marketing strategies for the Community at Rockhill and for the Lutheran Community at Telford. This position is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategies, communications and public relations activities. Under the direction of the Director of Sales, Marketing & Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for all aspects of marketing-related functions including, but not limited to, organizational marketing initiatives, digital and social media marketing, website strategy and content, social and email communications, print materials, and support of sales and development staff. The ideal candidate sees and seizes opportunities, pays attention to detail, and drives projects to completion within a collaborative team environment.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all sales and development communications, in all formats, are developed and executed at an exemplary level, effectively communicate organizational initiatives, and are consistent in messaging and brand standards.
  • Be familiar with and uphold the organization’s writing and graphic design standards.
  • Perform creative service functions, such as copy development or graphic design. Produce articles, newsletter, advertisements, invitations, press releases, talking points, presentations, blogs, video scripts, and more, in support of the sales, marketing and development initiatives.
  • Manage external design and writing resources.
  • Participate in budget development and management.
  • Function as the primary contact in tandem with the Director of Sales, marketing and Communications, for marketing vendors and media.
  • Work with staff to review or make recommendations on brand consistency in their programs.
  • Assist with outreach from a brand standards perspective and assist in any collateral development.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and update appropriate Web content and functionality.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities for projects in assigned areas to:
    • Develop and monitor schedules to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
    • Coordinate project details to ensure accurate and effective completion of sales, marketing and development communication projects.
    • Gain approvals (internal, external, compliance/regulatory, etc.).

  • Project management for occasional events and/or projects.
  • Continue to grow in awareness and knowledge of the communities, residents, prospects, local area events and connection opportunities, competitive environment, and current marketing and sales trends and practices.
  • Represent the organization in professional associations and inter-agency committees as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ability to:

  • Effectively interact with various parties across and outside the organization.
  • Clearly communicate information and ideas to others verbally and in writing. Effective public speaking and presentation skills a plus.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken word and sentences.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Manage a budget.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office programs, WordPress, and Adobe Suite software.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends. Required more or less 5% of overnight travel away from home.
