Materials Analyst (Nuttall) Job at Altra Industrial Motion Corp.
SUMMARY Responsible for the daily planning and coordination of order fulfillment in the facility. Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments and functions as a liaison between Customer Service, Sales and Marketing, Purchasing and Engineering in order to provide superior customer delivery performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Establish production plans which reflect marketing requirements and manufacturing and/or vendor capabilities.
- Create / change production orders for the facility.
- Issue production orders to the appropriate shop personnel.
- Interface with Purchasing personnel to expedite delivery of purchased parts.
- Respond to inquiries from Customer Service and Sales personnel.
- Locate parts in various stages of production, expediting when necessary.
- Responsible for distribution of dispatch lists to appropriate work centers and ensure adherence to dispatch lists.
- Investigate material shortages and expedite appropriate production order or purchase order.
- Locate related production orders and make necessary changes based on change notices.
- Answer inquiries from production personnel relating to production order priorities, Non- Conforming Materials Reports and material availability.
- Level load production, taking into account resources.
- Review safety stock and lot size levels and make adjustments to minimize inventory.
- Provide drawing prints to employees as requested.
- Participate in Altra Business System/Kaizen events to further enhance or resolve problems with manufacturing systems.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION
- Associates degree in a related discipline - equivalent experience will be considered
EXPERIENCE
- Three or more years in a manufacturing environment utilizing lean manufacturing concepts. Experience in a gear engineering or metal-cutting manufacturing industry a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency at the intermediate to advanced level in MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of SAP a plus.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Effective communication skills required.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts is preferred.
- APICS - CPIM or ISM - CPM certification is preferred.
Nuttall Gear LLC is required to comply with ITAR (International Trade in Arms Regulations). Therefore, successful candidates for this position must have an unrestricted right to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship either now or in the future.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate-controlled areas. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to: solvents, dusts, lead, fiberglass, noise, heat, cold.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Potential physical demands include, but are not limited to: frequent walking and standing, occasional twisting, stooping, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling; climbing, kneeling and lifting up to 40 lbs. Potential sensory demands include, but are not limited to, hearing and seeing.
