Materials Specialist (Grade Level: Exempt 3-4)

Job Summary

This position ensures materials received for metering installations meet all defined specifications for compliance and quality. The candidate will also be responsible for electronic inventory tracking, receiving materials, counting materials, preparing sample paperwork, and other functions associated with the Metering Warehouse.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• 2-year Associate Degree / Certificate OR equivalent work experience in related field strongly preferred.

Experience

• Proven experience working with all metering equipment preferred.

• Prior work experience interfacing with outside vendors is a plus.

Knowledge

• In depth Maximo Materials and Inventory experience.

• GPC Warehouse/Storeroom experience preferred.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Specify major duties performed by the job and % of time spent on duties.

This candidate will be responsible for:

• Receiving and inspecting meters and meter equipment

• Working with vendors for resolution of damaged or incorrect materials

• Entering information into Maximo, spreadsheets, and reports.

• Communicating with Employees, Management, and Vendors

• Arranging shipments with SOCO transportation, Fedex, and AAA Cooper.

• Moving materials

Other Requirements - The position is required to lift, slide, and lean over and around material. Candidate must be able to lift and slide generally between 25 to 50 lbs max. The majority (90 percent) of the lifting required is less than 20 lbs. Hand trucks and pallet jacks are also used to move material. - Candidate must spend approximately 30-35% percent of the time working outside the office in the warehouse and must be able to work in extreme cold and hot temperatures. Some days 100% of the day could be spent working (including walking & standing) in the warehouse.
