Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will join an innovative, dedicated team in a growing company. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be encouraged to bring fresh ideas which improve the function, safety, manufacturability, serviceability, aesthetics, and cost of our industrial x-ray systems.

Responsibilities:

Will include, but not limited to the following:

• Conceptual and detailed design of systems, assemblies, and components
• Create and manage engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, ECOs, and work instructions
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work and regulatory compliance
• Drive cost reductions and operational efficiency through standardization and effective documentation
• Lead or support regulatory compliance projects (CE, REACH, RoHS, UL, etc)
• Provide system specifications and drawings to sales for quoting and customer review
• Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for system integration, startup, and testing
• Support system build, integration, startup, and troubleshooting
• Support supplier selection and management for mechanical subsystems and components
• Support field service to resolve issues with customer systems
• Support system installation and commissioning at customer site, as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skilled and experienced with SolidWorks and PDM
• Understanding of design for manufacture, assembly, and serviceability
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, management, and customers
• Ability to work on projects with demanding design and production cycles
• Willing and able to travel to customer sites for meetings and site reviews
• Self-motivated, well-organized, creative, and diligent

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with industrial x-ray imaging systems and components
• Experience with multi-axis precision motion systems
• Experience with regulatory compliance for industrial equipment (CE, RoHS, REACH, etc)
• Ability to perform structural analysis and FEA
• Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication
• Ability to create renderings and animations for sales and marketing

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience

Certificates, License, Registrations:

• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured.
• US Citizen, Green Card holder or equivalent.
• Valid passport and ability to travel outside of the United States.
