Position Overview:

75-year-old, mid-sized, global designer & manufacturer of Class II medical (dental) devices (50% chemical formations; 50% electronics and small equipment) on Long Island, New York, seeks a highly motivated, hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of10 years’ experience to work with our team on product and process development and support. This position will report to the Director of Engineering.

Duties include:

• Design of fixtures and production equipment parts.
• Write detailed operational procedures.
• Use of CAD tools for drawing, simulation, and analysis.
• Work on new product development
• Implement prototypes.
• Generate and execute design verification protocols.
• Interfacing with Regulatory Department as required.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Solid works.
• Knowledge and prior use of CAD software.
• In-depth knowledge of industry design principles.
• Capable of performing FEM modal analysis.
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Self-Starter with minimal supervision.
• Problem Solver, ability to think outside the box.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Communicate and work well with others.
• Organized with excellent time-management skills.
• Team and Customer Service focused.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• PE Certification a plus.

Experience:

• 10 years of relevant design experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Long periods of sitting
• Ability to Lift up to 25 lbs.
