PSIMED Inc., a leading behavioral health provider, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at our South Ridge office to assist providers by performing various clinical duties in the delivery of quality patient care.

Job Requirements

Coordinate/schedule patient appointments and answer calls from patients.

Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining vitals and medical history; document in patients’ charts.

Oversee medication refills/changes.

Communicate with providers.

Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and PSIMED policies and procedures.

Collaborate and work effectively with patients, co-workers, providers and management.

Provide administrative support and data entry.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a Medical Assistant program required. Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred.

Registered or Certified Medical Assistant in the State of West Virginia.

Experience

Medical Office experience preferred.

Experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.

Requires a basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, basic medical equipment and appropriate pharmacology.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others.

Ability to deal calmly and appropriately with stressful situations. Maintain professionalism with clients and teammates.

Ability to establish and maintain a variety of records, organize data and prepare reports.

Detail oriented, organized, ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, email and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Proficient with basic office equipment.

MUST PASS BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREEN.

Work Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:50 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 7:50 am - 12:00 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
