Job Duties

• Ensure claims are billed on a timely basis and are accurate and compliant
• Works with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, and clients to collect all balances
• Ensure Point Click Care (PCC) billing module is updated with current billing and collection notes
• Works with residents and families to gather necessary information for compliant and timely billing and filings
• Review Daily Census for any changes impacting billing
• Submit monthly Nurse Practitioner claims
• Manages actions related to delinquent accounts and minimizes write-offs

· Download electronic remittance advises and post to PCC, follow up on those claims not paid in full until resolution

· Respond to patient/family billing inquiries in a timely manner

· Provide assistance in switching plans including traditional Medicare

· Review aging report and follow up as necessary

· Maintain Resident Funds Management Service for MA residents

· Triple Check Med B

· Month end processes: entering additional charges necessary for complete billing (supplements, salon services, pharmacy, therapy, and ambulance billing)

· Monthly close SNF/Convent

• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned by the Controller

Job Requirements

• 1-3 years of proven experience as a Medical Biller in Long Term Care
• Experience with Point Click Care is preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMOs, hospice billing, and NP billing
• Knowledge of verifying payor sources and posting ancillaries and payments
• Knowledge of state and federal nursing home guidelines
• Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritizes, and tasks independently and as a team, meeting all required deadlines
• Must be resourceful and persistent and possess excellent problem resolution skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customer service focused aptitude
• Detail-oriented individuals who are team players; highly self-motivated
• Adaptable to change and willingness to learn different processes
