Medical Billing Processor Job at Brave Care
As Brave Care continues to grow we're looking for a Medical Billing Processor to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a practice and company changing the way children and families access and receive care. We're looking for an individual with experience in the healthcare billing and insurance industry who can work with Brave Care staff to improve the billing and recovery processes.
In this role, you will…
- Assist with collection efforts for both insurance payers and patients consistent with Brave Care's values and collection policies for primary care and urgent care medical claims
- Identify opportunities for improving the billing process on a go-forward basis based on claims review
- Work with Revenue Cycle Manager and Billing & Collection Specialist to use the Kareo system to perform billing functions
- Report coding inconsistencies so that they can be shared

- You have prior experience with these roles from the perspective of a health insurance company or provider's practice, especially in pediatrics, (pediatrics experience not required).
- You are highly organized
- You enjoy the challenge of developing and implementing new processes, efficiencies, and creatively solving puzzles and problems
- You have excellent communication skills
- You enjoy working well with others
You'll need to have…
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical billing and claim submission. Experience within pediatrics is a plus.
- Intimate understanding of the medical claim submission process, and understanding of the insurance process.
- Experience working with commercial and government payor claims
- Experience working with multiple EHR and handling claims for multiple providers
- Experience working with manual and electronic claims submission
- Experience submitting clinical claims for Oregon and/or Texas
