Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in patients and visitors, check-out and schedule patients for follow-up care, and complete registration for each patient according to service being performed and location of care
  • Order appropriate labs for new patient visits and file completed intake sheets.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of medical records flow of information and maintain a good working relationship with departments.
  • Copies, Scans, indexes, and routes documents. Document critical information to ensure prompt authorization, referrals, and scheduling as needed.
  • Timely prepares and accurately completes requested tasks including, but not limited to, developing documents, letters, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Prepare documents and mails via Certified mail.
  • Capable of scheduling multiple services while balancing departmental resources, utilization requirements, and addressing physician/patient requests or needs.
  • Answer the phone, triaging calls, and dispatch callers to the appropriate areas where applicable and utilizes technology appropriately to assure timely call answering.
  • Maintains call stats according to unit standards and work to help the team achieve statistical goals.
  • Assist in various clerical and other duties in our patient-centered facility
  • Enter patient demographic and insurance information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and scanning patient documentation into their chart
  • Customer service focus and empathetic care to the incoming patient population

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • Experience with check in, scheduling, and check out functions within the Healthcare Industry preferred
  • Experience with an EMR system a plus.
  • High school diploma
