The Center for Interdisciplinary Spine is in search of a motivated candidate with a team-centered attitude! We are looking for a Medical Receptionist that has a passion for medicine and helping people obtain the services they need and making sure patients feel comfortable when seeing a doctor.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:

1. Provide a warm greeting and excellent customer service to every patient

2. Answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner

3. Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies and procedures.

4. Check-in/Check-out: Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.

5. Maintain and oversee patient flow

6. Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis. Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required.

7. Utilizing IMS, file records (insurance cards, registration form, ID, referral, etc) in appropriate sections of patient charts and keeps patient charts in proper order.

8. Medical record requests. Copy patient information and forward to requesting party after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.

9. (HIPAA) Maintain files and records in a confidential manner. Maintain patient confidentiality.

10. Ensure office supplies excluding medical supplies are sufficient and stocked.

11. Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.

12. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Qualifications

  • Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish – preferred
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in computerized appointment scheduling.
  • Two years medical clerical experience preferred. Good communication and language skills required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to type 40 wpm, use standard office equipment and be computer literate.
  • Interpersonal: Client oriented. Actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment. Uses interpersonal skills to establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relations, which include functional trust, positive feedback, and constructive criticism. Good communication skills: oral and written.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
