Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of her/her unit. The Manager serves as liaison between staff and administrative personnel. They establish personnel qualification requirements and performs other personnel management tasks.

What you will do in this role:

• You will be performing patient rounding in an effort to maximize patient satisfaction and quality standards.
• You will be developing performance plans, identifying performance issues, and managing performance and career development.
• This role provides you the opportunity to manage and coordinate the activities of Nursing and Support Staff of assigned units to ensure patient care is provided in accordance with the established standards and legal requirements.
• You will monitor, evaluate and modify staffing patterns in order to properly utilize assigned staff to provide patient care in assigned areas; prepares and modifies work schedules as needed to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts; approves paid time off, sick time, and leave of absence requirements for assigned staff.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelors Degree required
• Minimum of 1 year med/surg experience
• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• Three to Five years of Leadership experience preferred
• Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or other acceptable Board of Nursing
• Current BLS certification
• Pursue and complete Med-Surg certification within 1 year from date of hire
