Position Summary:
The Nursing Assistant at the Melrose Institute provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing his/her skill and expertise to complement other health care providers.



Education/Experience:

Completed Nursing Assistant Program or completed first quarter clinicals of an accredited RN or LPN program.



Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

Must be in compliance with Minnesota Department of Human Services requirements; DHS Rule 36 requirements mandate that an individual must be at least 21 years old.
 Individuals are responsible for the travel arrangements required to meet the expectations of the position.
 Current on State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or completed at least first quarter clinicals of an accredited RN or LPN program.
 Currently validated CPR skills.
 Currently validated BLS skills.
 Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle violation criteria.

For positions with direct patient contact: Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, and discrimination and harassment laws).
