Kats Wine & Spirits is looking for friendly, versatile candidates who will thrive in our team environment. Tasks may include warmly welcoming our clientele, assisting customers with wine and spirit selections, making sales, and stocking while maintaining neat inventory displays. Although prior experience is not required, a genuine interest in wine and spirits is essential. Education is provided for the position with optional tastings.

Applicants must be able to pass state (Mississippi) and federal (FBI) background checks for MS Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licensing.

Although applicants with wine and spirits training will start at higher rates, the position starts at a "training rate" of $11.35 per hour for the first six pay periods. After training, the base rate increases to $11.55 for the following six pay periods. Then, at the beginning of the next pay period, the base rate increases to $11.76. Plus, once your command of our products and procedures yields adept selling, merchandising, and customer service, a monthly inventory bonus starting at $35 is added. Based on 29.5 hours per week, the $35 bonus adds .29c per hour, bringing your hourly equivalent to $12.05. Additional increases are then awarded based on performance and tenure, and employees who are increased to full-time hours become eligible to join Kats' group health insurance plan on the 1st of the month following their ninetieth day of full-time employment.

Hours are mostly afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.

Applicants must meet pre and post-employment requirements such as:

• Be at least 21.
• Pass comprehensive background checks and drug screenings, including state (Mississippi) and federal (FBI) background checks for Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licensing.
• Pass motor vehicle review with a favorable driving record and no DUIs.
• Have the ability to frequently lift 40-pound cases, including up and down ladders.
• Present a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
