Position Summary: (mRNA therapeutics Scientist)

Hengenix Biotech, Inc., located in Milpitas, CA, focuses on developing and delivering high-quality, innovative, and affordable medicine to patients worldwide to treat a range of chronic and life-threatening diseases with a focus in immune oncology.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist of mRNA therapeutics focusing on CAR-T, CAR-NK, and cancer vaccine therapy. This role will be part of the newly created mRNA team, contributing to the development of mRNA based off-the-shelf in vivo cell reprograming platform. Reporting to the Director of mRNA therapeutics, this position will be focusing on self-amplifying and circular mRNAs expression construct designs, cell modification, and in vivo cell specific LNP (Lipid Nano Particle) delivery technologies. The exact title and responsibilities will depend on the candidate's experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Molecular or cell biologist focusing on immune cell functional reprograming by genetic modification
  • Design and optimize CAR-T, -NK gene expression cassettes (access DNA sequence depositories, read literature, and analyze DNA sequences)
  • Perform molecular cloning experiments (PCR, electrophoresis, Gibson assembly, bacterial transformation, screening, plasmid preparation, sequencing, etc.)
  • Collaboratively develop in vivo mRNA based cell reprograming platform (mRNA, CRISPR, LNPs)
  • Develop in vitro cell-based assays (cell culture, DNA and mRNA transfection, flow cytometry, high content imaging, cytokine profiling, cytotoxicity, proliferation, etc.) to characterize cell functional activity
  • Present in internal and cross-functional meetings

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • PhD in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Cancer Biology, Immunology, or related scientific discipline with 0-6+ years of professional experience, or MS and 4+ years experience. Title and responsibilities will be based on experience
  • Academic and/or industry experience in the relevant field with demonstrated significant contribution
  • Expertise in molecular cloning and cell culture techniques required
  • Experience with multi-color flow cytometry, panel design, primary cell culture, cell sorting and/or data analysis is preferred
  • Prior experience with gene editing and/or mRNA-based therapeutics is a plus
  • Excellent project leadership skills driving for results and innovation; ability to execute within a matrixed organization
  • Well organized and able to efficiently manage your time and workflow, including skillfully prioritizing both long-term projects and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to developing the next generation of cell therapy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
