The Network Cable Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining low-voltage cabling systems for data, voice, video, and security applications. The technician will be responsible for pulling, routing, and terminating copper and fiber optic cabling, as well as installing and configuring networking and security equipment. The technician must possess knowledge of industry standards and best practices, as well as have experience working with a variety of low voltage cabling systems.

Responsibilities:

• Pull, route, and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling systems
• Install and configure networking and security equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and cameras
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and staff to ensure successful project completion
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, including ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and network connectivity issues
• Document all installations and changes in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Maintain an inventory of equipment and materials necessary for installations
• Provide technical support to customers and end-users as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Relevant technical certifications or degree preferred, such as BICSI Installer, CompTIA Network+
• 1-2 years of experience in low voltage cabling installation and maintenance
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
• Familiarity with copper and fiber optic cabling systems, including terminations and testing procedures
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and cabling schematics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, kneel, and crawl as necessary for installation and maintenance tasks
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders and lifts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
