Job Title: WWEF Coordinator

Job Summary: Coordination of WWEF shipments and Formal rating of international imported shipments. Must possess general knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection procedures per the U.S. Tariff, and regulations for importing. The following systems will be used: ISPSYS, OPSYS, BDIS, IDIS, BOSS, E-mail, RightFax, and Intra/Internet. This position works on holidays.
Job Description: Coordinating the customs brokerage on all WWEF shipments. Follow up with other sites on processing of shipments. Creating reports and updating database with shipment comments. Constant follow up with other team members to get status of shipments. Direct contact with importers to obtain essential information needed for customs clearance. Working directly with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to obtain release of shipment. Secure pertinent details on importing commodities from U.S. consignees via telephone and e-mail communications. Possess thorough knowledge of U.S. importing requirements and the ability to gain this information by using extensive resources available. Make mathematical calculations and ensure proper questions are posed to the consignee and or shipper regarding origins, functions, values and the end use of the goods being imported. Advise importers of customs charges and additional UPS charges when applicable toward clearance of goods requiring special attention (ex: Fish and Wildlife, agriculture, marking, Food and Drug submissions) complete all required forms and declarations as required by law. Establish contacts with frequent importers. Prioritize work to meet port specific deadlines. Submit International shipments that are being held for clearance by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Required Skills: Must have three months rating experience in small package processing. Candidate must have acceptable attendance record. Maximum of 4 concerns within a six month period. Must have acceptable score in most recent ATPA for all performance elements (i.e. productivity and accuracy). Able to work additional hours as needed. Must be able to work holidays.
Additional Skills: Ability to speak a foreign language (Spanish or French) is desired.
Interpersonal Skills: Must possess excellent written/oral communication skills. Ability to work in a close team setting. Must possess exceptional analytical skills. Good with numbers and problem resolution. Must have excellent organizational skills and be capable of handling multiple tasks throughout the shift. Self starter highly motivated career oriented. Able to work within tight time constraints and handle stressful situations.
Work Environment: The brokerage is a business office with more than 500 employees both shifts who work multiple shifts. It is a 24x7 operation. Staffing consist of both full and part time employees. Brokerage is responsible for clearing international shipments that are entering the U.S. from a foreign origin through the respective U.S. Government agencies. Dress code is standard UPS Flex Business Attire. Candidate for this position will be working in a group of approximately 30 employees.
