Position Overview

The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire a Northern Region Fraud Investigation Manager to serve as a supervisor of the SNAP Fraud investigators in the northern region. This unit is responsible for the investigation of possible fraud within the SNAP program in the northern region. This position will lead the northern region of investigators and serve as the liaison between the unit and administrative staff. This position participates in conferences and management meetings with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Fraud Administrator, other state agencies, and other bureaus and units within the agency; confers with department upper management to discuss program problems and policy decisions; and sustains working relationships with the federal and state agencies, and local and public agencies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as Northern Region Fraud Investigation Manager.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Attends and participates in conferences and management meetings with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Fraud Administrator, other state agencies, and other bureaus and units within the agency.
  • Confers with department upper management to discuss program problems and policy decisions.
  • Sustains working relationships with the federal and state agencies, and local and public agencies.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in a social or human services field.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.

Preferred Qualifications (in priority order)

1. Three (3) years of professional experience in developing and maintaining collaborative and cooperative working relationship with private and public organizations.

2. Three (3) years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while multi-tasking multiple projects.

3. Two (2) years of professional experience communicating in verbal or written form with both internal and external stakeholders for a public or private organization ensuring detailed and critical analysis of work performed.

4. One (1) year of professional experience analyzing administrative problems and adopting an effective course of action.

5. One (1) year of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff, approving time off, and preparing and signing performance evaluations.

6. One (1) year of professional experience developing, installing, and evaluating new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards.

1. Requires ability to travel statewide.
