Nurse 2:

This is a part time position at 24hrs/week. This position is represented by the Courthouse Bargaining Unit.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Personal & Family Health team at Whitman County Public Health (WCPH). WCPH is growing our team and looking to expand our maternal child health programs. This position will have lots of flexibility and room for focusing on projects of interest within the field of maternal child health, children with special health care needs (CSHCN), immunization rate improvement, and daycare consulting.

WCPH is the local health jurisdiction for Whitman County acting as the hub for all essential public health services the state has to offer Whitman County residents. We partner closely with the State of Washington and local health care providers.

Our Personal & Family Health team will focus on outreach programs that benefit the community by offering access to essential services through the following programs: Whitman County Community Clinic (Immunizations and TB testing), Women Infants and Children, Children with Special Health Care Needs, Safe Kids, and ABCD Dental.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Daycare Consultant: Act as nurse consultant for local Head Start/ECEAP program to provide the following services: review individual health plans, provide immunization services and lead checks when needed, provide pre and post-natal counseling sessions for expectant mothers in the ECEAP system.
• Coordinator for Maternal Child Health Block Grant: includes helping coordinate services for Children with Special Health Care Needs and new ACE’s awareness program.
• Whitman County Community Clinic: Help administer immunizations at our Pullman and Colfax locations.
• Fall On-Site Clinics: Help coordinate and administer vaccines for community vaccination clinics as needed.
• Other: Potential for serving on the Safe Kids Coalition and helping to develop community education and outreach around topics of identified need in the areas of maternal child health.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Current RN license in the state of WA

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in nursing. Preferred experience with maternal child health, pediatrics, or similar public health experience. Preferred skills: comfortable giving immunizations to pediatric populations.

Certifications: BLS

Other skills: Good communication, positive attitude, and a desire to be a part of a diverse team that works together closely to provide public health services to Whitman County.

Starting Salary: $3174/month

Full Salary Range: $2933-$3505
