About the Armstrong Flight Research Center: Administrative and Medical Record/Document support: The AFRC Health unit (HU) medical services and Clinic Director require the support of a technical/clinical documents/medical records information specialist.

Responsibilities
Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform work-related medical examinations.
- Assess, treat and manage workplace illnesses and injuries within the purview of the Health Unit.
- Assess and treat urgent or emergent conditions, such as acute coronary syndrome, acute myocardial infarction, or cerebrovascular accident (stroke) on an initial (i.e. urgent or emergence) basis.
- Respond immediately to 911 emergency calls in accordance with the Center’s Emergency.
- Assess non-work-related illnesses.
- Document all patient contacts in the NASA-provided electronic health record system (EHRS).
- Complete all required forms in accordance with standard practice and specific NASA guidance
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (certified by the American Heart Association);
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (certified by the American Heart Association);
- RN Nursing License (State of California) or PA license (State of California);
- Certified by the CAOHC (Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation)
- Completion of the NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Heath) Spirometry Course; and
- Certified, and Registered as an FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) Medical Examiner.
