Our clinic is seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner to join our care team. MWRS has 9 clinicians and 3 prescribing nurse practitioners on our team. MWRS has locations in Coeur d Alene, Sandpoint, Spirit Lake, and downtown Priest River. We are currently looking to hire another prescriber to join our team in CDA. The position will be a hybrid model with 2-3 days spent in office and 2-3 days working via tele-health from home.

At time of hire the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must possess a Nurse Practitioner degree and current Idaho license, and preferably 2-3 years of full-time experience in a similar setting or psychiatric care facility. We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner whose expertise supports our mission and vision of expanding and developing a new outpatient program supporting the mental health community in north Idaho.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for evaluating and providing medical and psychotherapeutic care for patients that have psychiatric disorders, medical mental conditions or substance abuse problems.
• Licensed to provide emergency psychiatric services, psychosocial and physical assessment of their patients, treatment plans, psychotherapy and to continually manage patient care
• May serve as a consultant or educator for families and mental health staff focusing on psychiatric diagnosis, including the differential diagnosis of medical disorders with psychiatric symptoms, and on medication treatment for psychiatric disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Document patient progress
• Provide medication management
• Provide brief psychotherapy
• Manage a scheduling calendar
• Become familiar with OSHA trainings and maintaining compliance

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for evaluating and providing care for patients that have psychiatric disorders, medical mental conditions or substance abuse problems. This position works closely with the Clinical Director and is able to collaborate with mental health providers and community referrals to help clients implement individualized therapeutic lifestyle changes, improve healthy coping skills, and increase overall functioning within the community. The Nurse Practitioner start as remote and will transition to a hybrid schedule in office and tele-health.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Idaho
• At least one year experience working and prescribing with psychiatric patients, 2-3 years preferred
• Masters degree in Nursing from an accredited university
• Experience in the use of technology
• Ability to follow HIPAA policies and agency policies
• Ability to conduct confidential virtual therapy sessions from home
