Job Summary:
Performs selected nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. A credentialed non-licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger is responsible for direct and/or indirect care.
Education:
Required: Nursing student who has completed all but the last year of the nursing program toward the RN designation, or 6 months from graduating from LPN designation. De-escalation training.

Department Position Summary:
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in Women's & Infant Services, which is the Mother/Baby, Newborn, and Labor & Delivery floors. Is responsible for correct documentation. Performs nursing care under direct supervision of an RN according to the institution's policies and procedures. The employee must not give any medications, including pain pills, any injections, insulin, or provide eye ointment or vaccines to any newborn.
