At The Ridge of Madison Assisted Living, we have an incredible opportunity waiting for a compassionate and hardworking Care Staff. We are looking for Care Staff that has an incredible work ethic, a strong sense of teamwork, excellent communication skills and a passion for serving seniors.

The Care Staff is a vital member to our memory care community. They provide personal care, perform assisted daily living activities, and resident evaluations. They are dedicated to improving our resident’s health and quality of life.

Responsibilities –

• Adheres to and conveys community’s philosophy of maintaining elements of self-care and encouraging independence.
• Reads the shift-to-shift report and shower schedule for information and changes before coming on shift. Documents in the shift-to-shift report book and ADL binder before going off shift.
• Responds immediately to calls from residents for assistance or treatment and alert medical staff to pending emergency situations.
• Assists with activities of daily living, environmental orientation, vital signs, simple treatments, and other care.
• Assist in preparing residents for meals (escorting to and from dining room, serving trays, placing clothing protectors, assisting in feeding or cutting food, removal of trays, supervision in dining room).
• Documents care given; adhering to community policies and procedures.
• Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors including housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Reports deficiencies observed in resident apartments clothing/linen and throughout the community.
• Observes any changes in resident physical or mental status and communicates to administrator, HSD or Resident Services Manager.
• Perform all duties as assigned an in accordance with the community’s established policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.

Requirements –

• Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
• Capable of maintaining regular attendance.
• Physical and sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to hear and respond to pages; ability to read and write; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with residents, families, and personnel; ability to remain calm under stress.
