Nursing Assistant Emergency Department, Johnson City
United Health Services is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our WMC Emergency Department team in Johnson City, NY. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM- 3:00 PM
Hours per week: 24
Salary range: $20.00 - $27.00/hour, depending on experience

Nursing Assistant Emergency Department Overview
Performs basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures and practices of the Nursing Division and United Health Services. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
Nursing Assistant Emergency Department Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Provides basic patient care including activities of daily living and personal needs.
Assists patients with eating and hydration by opening containers, cutting food, or feeding patients when directed by RN.
Measures and records a variety of clinical measurements (i.e., vital signs, patient weight, intake, and output).
Ensures the patient has a comfortable and safe environment. Follows Patient Rounding standards.
Communicates regularly with the nurse about patient condition according to unit standards.
Performs the functions of Unit Secretary when assigned.
Complies with organizational and departmental ergonomic & safety principles while performing all work related activities.
Performs EKGs when asked and shows the results immediately to a licensed practitioner.
Obtains specimens as needed and is able to test specimens for urine pregnancy and urine analysis by Point of Care standards.

Position Qualifications
Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Completed a Nurse’s Aide program.
Previous hospital or health care experience
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
CPR Certification within 3 months of hire
