Blue Sea Education has an immediate need for a full-time school-based Occupational Therapist in East Meadow, N.Y from Monday-Friday during normal school hours to fulfill a caseload within an elementary school in Central Nassau County.

Position Overview:

• Demonstrates and applies knowledge of human growth and development to deliver services in a manner appropriate to the age of the student
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic techniques, activities and principles of Occupational Therapy
• Performs a thorough, evidence-based clinical assessment of the needs of the student and provides treatment in keeping with the Individualized Education Plan
• Establishes measurable short- and long-term IEP goals in conjunction with the student’s educational team
• Collaborates with the educational team to determine the services, supports, modifications and accommodations required for the student to meet their annual goals
• Completes daily documentation of OT services that is thorough, accurate and completed in accordance with school district policy
• Communicates professionally and in a timely manner with all stakeholders including, school staff, families and Blue Sea staff
• Attends and participates in CSE and other team meetings as needed

Requirements:

• Valid New York State Occupational Therapist License and Registration
• - or - Valid New York State Occupational Therapist Assistant License
• School-based experience preferred
