Wonderland is hiring an occupational therapist to serve children birth to three years of age and their families.

This position is responsible for providing evaluation and developmental support services for children who are delayed or disabled in a manner impacting their development, thereby reducing the impact of the child’s diagnosis or delay on their skills and abilities. The occupational therapist also provides coaching, consultation, and training supports for caregivers of enrolled children, and is an active participant in our transdisciplinary team of therapists, educators, and family resource coordinators. Extensive training provided.

Chief responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate each child’s performance in all areas of development using instruments and a timetable approved by the agency.
• Participate in the development of each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
• Provide direct and indirect services to children with developmental delays or disabilities in their natural learning environments.
• Provide coaching and consultation for staff, parents and care providers.
• Attend or conduct conferences/consultations with caregivers.
• Participate as a member of the transdisciplinary team including caregivers and professional staff.
• Serve as a liaison with the medical and educational community on behalf of enrolled children and their parents/caregivers.
• Demonstrate a caring, nonjudgmental attitude with every family.
• Attend scheduled clinical and staff meetings and be an active participant in staff related activities.
• Prepare written reports and chart notes as required by WCFS.
• Provide in-service trainings of staff and volunteers as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Valid OT license in state of Washington.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable automobile required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Able to work at a center, in a family’s home, and in a variety of community settings.
• Physical requirements: able to participate in active floor time including sitting, standing, walking and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Current criminal background check maintained for all employees.
• Wonderland employees are mandated reporters of any suspected abuse or neglect of a child to either DSHS or law enforcement.
• Commitment to building and strengthening equity practices.
