One to One Support Staff Job at MAB Community Services
UUnder the general supervision of the MABWorks Program Director, the OOA supports the individual assigned in accessing onsite and community activities and provides any individualized supports as needed with the goal of maximizing individual’s capacity for personal growth and community membership consistent with each individual’s support plan (ISP).
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT DUTIES:
The One to one aid (OOA) performs the following duties in concert the program interdisciplinary team:
-Provides job coaching to individuals and working closely with the individuals’ workplace supervisors to ensure job retention/success. Communicates and documents individuals’ progress.
-Assists in career exploration, worksite, and job development efforts.
-Assists in initial orientation and oversight of quality control at worksites.
-Assists in providing liaison between worksite supervisors and mabworks management problem-solving, written and oral communication, coordinative tasks, and other duties in accordance with worksite and MAB policies.
-Assists in developing any individualized programming and/or schedule required by the individuals on their caseload
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties and responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with person-centered practices, Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), and MAB general policies and guidelines.
-Provides case management services to assigned individuals.
-Participates in the development of and implements supports strategies for accomplishment of ISPs and MABWorks goals and objectives for assigned individuals. Advocates for and supports self-determination/self-advocacy efforts of individuals.
-Prepares, accompanies, and supports each individual for work experience and other community-based meetings/interviews and performs follow-up activities. Modifies instructional methods to meet learning needs of each individual.
-Utilizes curriculum, assistive technology, and provides accommodations as appropriate for each individual in both onsite and community-based settings.
-Assists/supports each individual in all daily activities (e.g., personal care, mobility, communication) as appropriate. Monitors their activities to ensure their health and safety while supporting their interests, preferences, abilities, and skill-building, and promoting their independence. Serves as positive role model.
-Provides transportation for all community-based activities for individuals as needed.
-Notifies AMPM, MPM and/or other staff immediately in the event of a change in an individual’s health status, medication, or other emergency.
-Maintains and updates individuals’ files. Collects all required data, and writes timely, complete, objective, and accurate monthly progress reports, assessments, and other reports as needed.
-Assists in maintaining safety, appearance, and cleanliness of MABWorks program space.
-Obtains Medical Administration Program Certificate and administers medications to participants per physicians’ orders and in compliance with MAP.
-Participates in staff meetings and trainings; seeks additional training as needed. Supports training of new staff.
-Provides coverage for the Program Specialists as needed.
