You are responsible for

  • Leveraging Operational Inbound Supply Chain Management to control and assure a continuous material flow of purchased parts leveraging ERP data

  • Closing collaboration with strategic suppliers to achieve an excellent operational performance and KPI improvements

  • Collaborating across OMM functions such as planning regarding material risks

  • Leveraging buying strategies to align with overall supplier agreement strategy

  • Analyzing ERP demand (current and historical) and MRP signals and translate this into a supply plan

  • Placing orders with suppliers based upon ERP triggers and tracks order confirmation, monitors open order position/exceptions, expedites if needed, and update SAP with current dates as required keeps SAP updated

  • Identifying material shortage risks and takes action to mitigate

  • Performing inventory analysis regarding order volume, usage, and potential risk for shortages, excess and/or slow moving

  • Executing Supply Chain Management master data set-up and maintenance in SAP based upon strategic supplier agreements and other relevant order related attributes

  • Executing Product Life Cycle management and analysis regarding part status and impact to inventory

  • Executing windchill tasks as they relate to item enrichment for new/phase in and/or phase out of parts

  • Managing return orders to suppliers based upon NCMR and/or ECN dispositions of material

  • Represents Purchasing in cross functional team projects to meet the key objectives

You are part of

This Operational Material Management (OMM) team is based in Latham NY. You are responsible for all aspects of Inbound Supply Management which includes Supplier Management, Inbound Supply Chain Processes, Supply Planning and Operational Management. We’re embedded in the Integrated Supply Chain Organization.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 3+ years of raw material or finished product buying experience in manufacturing environment is required

  • SAP experience is desirable

  • Inventory analysis experience required

  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills leveraging excel

  • Effective communication
