Operations Manager Job at Zurich Insurance
Zurich North America has an Operations Services Manager opportunity available. This role will support Underwriting within Operations Services and be based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. This role has the ability to be hybrid with 1-2 days per week in the office with additional days required based on business need.
Operations Services provides a variety of services that support the underwriting process and various internal and external customers. We are focused on consistent service delivery, as well as incremental and transformational improvements, which result in improved service delivery and efficiency. Our approach is to partner with the business units to understand priorities, challenges, and strategy changes, and to learn how we can best contribute to their success.
In this role you will lead, motivate, and develop an operations support staff who perform policy services activities in support of the underwriting process, including Motor Carrier filings, Posting Notices, and Sanctions screening.
Additional responsibilities:
- Promote effective operations through standardization, improvement, simplification, discontinuance, or other methods.
- Implement new systems and procedures in various departments and instruct employees regarding them.
- Make and implement recommendations on improving workflow/processes of a functional area or accountability.
- Ensure the volume of work produced meets or exceeds service standards and quality expectations.
- Make staffing decisions concerning hiring, training/development, and evaluation of staff performance.
- Administer performance evaluations and coach/counsel others to impact performance.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area
Preferred Qualifications:
- People management experience
- Familiarity with production/metrics performance environment
- Insurance certifications or insurance coursework
