As a Scribe, you will provide accurate documentation and summarization of the examination and plan, while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status. Job duties include, but are not limited to updating medical history, medications and ocular history and documenting complaints. - List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
- Document procedures performed by the physician
- Serve as liaison between the physician, patient and staff
- Provide unparalleled customer service to our patients
- Adhere to established protocols and work processes
- Successfully manage volume without compromising quality
- Enter timely, as dictated by physician, accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter
- Knowledge of medical, medication and ophthalmic terminology
- Completion of pre-operative paperwork
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills
- Knowledge of medication terminology and CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred
- Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct
- Be a team player and maintain a professional attitude with typical job stress, flexibility to work in a continuously evolving and fast paced work environment
- One year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
