We are seeking an energetic leader to join Heart of America, a highly respected ophthalmology practice in the Kansas City area. The Practice Administrator/Manager will be a role model for staff, and a collaborator with the physicians, to ensure the delivery of exemplary patient care. The Practice Administrator/Manager is responsible for leading the daily clinical and operational functions of the ophthalmology medical practice; establishing and maintaining clinical standards of care; managing staff and resources; facilitating and maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations; and creating a culture of teamwork and respect.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Selected responsibilities; not all-inclusive:

• Manages and coordinates the schedule templates, staffing levels, and workflow to maximize patient access, accelerate revenue generation and facilitate growth opportunities.
• Manages the revenue cycle management processes to ensure timely and accurate patient insurance verifications and pre-collections, and accurate and expedient coding, billing, and collections with payors.
• Establishes quality assurance and performance improvement measures to support the delivery of exemplary patient care as well as ongoing staff development.
• Manages administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of all policies and procedures.
• Encourages and role models cross-functional problem-solving to improve the quality of services and productivity.
• Works effectively with peers, physicians, managers, employees, and others.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS – Selected Preferred qualifications; not all-inclusive:

• 5+ years of progressively responsible management experience in the ophthalmic industry; Certified Ophthalmology Practice Administrator desired.
• Proven success or ability to be successful being a role model for all areas within an ophthalmology practice.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering against annual financial and operational plans.
• Expert level proficiency with Microsoft software including an ability to effectively work in Excel; experience with ophthalmology-related PM and EHR systems required.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams and interacting with staff at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
