Out of School Coordinator Job at Higher Ground Resource Center
JOB SUMMARY:
Higher Ground Out of School Time Coordinator’s primary job is to manage the daily programming aspects of the out of school time programs at multiple Higher Ground Restart SMART schools. This individual will be responsible for planning and directing activities, programs, events, and managing the daily operations. This position is responsible for program design and is expected to be implemented to the highest quality according to the mission of Higher Ground a Resource Center.
REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer, or Chief Technology Officer in the absence of such a position.
DEPARTMENT QUALITY MEASUREMENT GOALS:
These are the areas of responsibility that specify quality measures to be implemented using the continuous improvement cycle. All areas are of equal importance and are NOT listed according to priority. Priority will be determined by the Chief Administrative Officer:
- Mission-Based: (Higher Ground Mission: To EMPOWER one life at a time to REACH, TRANSFORM, and ELEVATE their community through love and building character).
- Outreach with potential community partners and volunteers at each school site.
- Generate Out of School Time opportunities based on 8-Dimensions of Wellness.
- Increase student participation in out of school learning experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and supervise daily activities across multiple Restart SMART school sites.
Supervise program staff and volunteers.
Recruitment, Training, and Supervision of Life Changers (volunteers).
Execute different programming design, practice, and/or methodologies as approved by the Chief Administrative Officer.
Coordinate with staff for inventory restocking and supply orders.
Travel Restart SMART sites routinely to ensure that student arrival procedures and protocols are followed by staff.
Ensure proper staff ratio is maintained and staff are on post for snack and student sign-in daily.
Coordinate Student Programming.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary for fulfillment of the mission.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience. Continuing education would also be accepted in place of actual degree. Youth Development or Program Development background is preferred.
- Experience working with K-12 youth (and their families).
- Must show strong leadership and management potential or experience and good relationship with the students, families, and community that Higher Ground serves.
- Knowledge of minority experience in Tucson and South Tucson.
- Competent with digital literacy skills.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish, verbal and written) is highly preferred.
