Your Job as an Outpatient Therapist:
The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for diagnosing and treating mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective or behavioral. The Outpatient Therapist will apply psychotherapeutic theories and techniques in the delivery of services to individuals and families for the purpose of treating such diagnosed emotional and mental disorders.
Essential Functions asan Outpatient Therapist:
- Provide psychotherapy services to the patient as scheduled.
- Conduct individual, group or family therapy sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan of the patient.
- Provide initial treatment planning for patients based on assessment and coordinate any additional services needed and revise as necessary.
- Maintain documentation of therapy services provided to each patient, according to facility and professional standards and revise as needed.
- Maintain a caseload as assigned.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with other staff to facilitate services for the patient as appropriate to their treatment plan.
- May provide these services in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
- Provide case management, discharge planning or after-care planning according to the treatment plan.
- May assist in educating and training staff on behavior management or therapeutic crisis intervention.
- May coordinate various clinical and psychosocial or educational activities with the patient and their families.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, peers, clinical and non-clinical staff, supervisors and managers as well as staff in community organizations.
- Must have the ability to be a self-starter and work alone to accomplish patient goals without direct supervision.
- Ability to understand and address patient and family expectations and provide excellence in care and service consistent with the organization's mission, vision, values and behavioral standards.
- Working knowledge or self-initiative to become knowledgeable of applicable local, state and federal laws and accreditation standards as applicable to the role.
- Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing, in a way that is understood by patients, family members and others related to the mental health care team.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required.
- One year of group facilitation experience in a healthcare organization within the past three years preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Washington State DOH credential - LMHC, LASW, LMHCA, LMFTA
- Current BLS CPR certification
- Crisis prevention training on hire and ongoing
Compensation:
Compensation for roles at Cascade Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Cascade Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Washington as set forth below.

Calculated Hourly Range for role: $34.18 - $51.27 per hr
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
