We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead of Battery Pack Design Engineering to join our team. The Lead of Battery Pack Design Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design and development of battery packs for electric vehicles, consumer electronics, and energy storage systems. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the battery packs meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a team of engineers responsible for battery pack design, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal design aspects
• Develop and implement design processes and procedures to ensure high-quality and cost-effective battery pack designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that battery pack designs meet performance, reliability, and cost targets
• Work closely with suppliers to select and qualify materials and components for battery pack designs
• Manage battery pack design projects from concept through production, including project timelines, budgets, and resources
• Provide technical guidance and support to the team, including design reviews and problem-solving
• Develop and execute testing and validation plans to ensure battery pack designs meet industry standards and customer requirements
• Build and develop a strong team of battery pack design engineers, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Prioritize and allocate resources to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in battery pack design and engineering

IDEALLY, YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:

• Strong knowledge of battery cell chemistry, pack-level mechanical design, and thermal management
• Experience with battery pack design software and tools, such as SolidWorks, NX or similar CAD systems, ANSYS, and Battery Design Studio
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and resources in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
• Experience in the automotive or consumer electronics industry is preferred
• Experience with product development cycles
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R

AND YOU'RE SOMEONE WHO IS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in battery pack design engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Excellent communicator
